Northern Education Trust

Working to fulfil the potential of young people

Background

The Northern Education Trust was set up as a non-profit charity in 2012, over subsequent years the Trust has developed its support infrastructure as more academies have joined. For more information, please view the Working with Academies section on this website.

The Trust now operates 20 academies (10 primary and 10 secondary) across the north of England. At the point of conversion 8 of these were categorised by Ofsted as being inadequate and 6 as requiring improvement. We are striving to ensure that all of these are rated good or outstanding within three years of conversion. Our academies are at the heart of their local communities and we put a lot of emphasis on sustainable community development approaches.
