Students Enter the ?We Made It UK? Competition

Students from our STEM Club entered the ?We Made It UK? competition in September. This is a national competition, which received hundreds of entries.

Students aged between 11-14 had to design something, a gadget, a toy or something that doesn't yet exist. The overall winning UK design would be created in a Fab Lab bringing their gadget to life.

We are very proud of all the students who took part and particularly pleased that Amelia Curry was chosen as the regional winner.

All students who entered received letters of thanks from our local MP Alex Cunningham and Amelia will be representing the school at an event in London later this year.

Mrs Wilson, STEM coordinator, said,

?The students had some really good ideas. I was really pleased with the entries we sent off. Then when we heard Amelia had won the regional section, I was thrilled. Her design was ingenious. I am surprised someone hasn't invented it already. Perhaps we need to patent it now!?

Amelia said, ?I am overwhelmed at the fact that I have won the competition for Stockton and can?t wait to go to London?.
