Red House Academy, Winners of Northern Education Cup

The Year 7/8 football squad from Red House Academy in Sunderland have won the prestigious Northern Education Trust Cup. The competition was held at Victoria Park, Hartlepool on Friday 6th May 2016. Those who made selection were outstanding both on and off the pitch. Selection for the team was an arduous process involving training performance, match performances and commitment to the team. Competition for places was highly contested with a number of students unlucky to miss out on this occasion.

The Red House team dominated possession in all games, creating excellent chances while remaining calm and composed at the back with outstanding defence, conceding only once in the whole tournament. Red House Academy were victorious in every game, scoring 17 goals on their way.

Not only did they win the overall trophy, two of the team also received individual awards; Louis Roper top goal scorer and Joe Ridley, player of the tournament - a fantastic performance throughout.

Well done Red House Academy!
