Another Successful Set of GCSE Results for Dyke House College

Morgan McKay, Molly Lake, Adam Brown

Dyke House College is celebrating another successful set of GCSE results following on from last week?s A-level results.

Pupils performed exceptionally well under the new, more rigorous, performance measures with the school achieving a fantastic, positive progress 8 score of 0.20. The score reflects the outstanding progress that the pupils have made on their journey from primary school to GCSE.

The pupils? achievement was made all the more significant in light of the high expectations of the school?s academic curriculum. The curriculum allows pupils to successfully make the transition from GCSE to Sixth Form. It also ensures that pupils can continue to excel and achieve places at the top universities, as was highlighted last week.

Mr Jordon (Executive Principal) commented, ? It?s particularly pleasing to note the high proportion of our pupils that went on to achieve the EBacc, enabling them to continue their education at Dyke House Sixth Form and progress to highly selective universities.?

A significant proportion of the year group achieved 5 A*-B grades at GCSE, as well as a number of pupils achieving the very highest of grades. Adam Brown and Morgan McKay both achieved all A* and A grades. Adam Brown, who is to attend Dyke House Sixth Form, said, ?I am absolutely thrilled with my results and can?t wait to start my A-levels.?
