Caring Principal Recognised in Shortlist for Award

Executive Principal of The Ferns Academy in Bolton which is sponsored by the Northern Education Trust, has been shortlisted for a national award in recognition of her excellent work within education.

Hundreds of nominations were received this year for the TowerGate Care Awards, however Deborah Murphy has shone through and is down to the final three for the Outstanding Contribution to the Education Sector category.

Deborah was appointed to her role at The Ferns Academy in 2012. During this time she has inspired both staff and students, bringing the school out of special measures and transforming school life of the pupils both academically and pastorally, with the recent Ofsted inspection judging the school as good with outstanding features.

The Towergate Care Awards held its first ceremony last year and is continuing to recognise and pay tribute to individuals who go above and beyond to deliver the best quality care every day. The final ceremony will be hosted by TV star Denise Van Outen at The Dorchester Hotel in London March 23rd 2017, where winners of all 10 categories will be revealed.

Deborah has dedicated all her expertise and passion to the development of her pupils and is a deserving winner for her achievements, fingers crossed!
